• What is your full name (and any nicknames)?
Sikainder Mandalorian Initiate of the First Ring, As a male who just reached maturity for his Eladrin heritage Sikainder is trying to distance himself from his full name which his father gave to him which roughly translates to “Precious”. He sees this name as childish and feminine and now goes by Kane to all but his Mother and Father

• What do you look like?
Kane is 5’7” and weighs just under 200 pounds. By normal standards and especially for Eladrin standards Kane is noticeably overweight but not obese. He has the flabby and weak body of someone who spends their time inside studiously reading and learning. He has longish hair commonly associated with his elven heritage although he cuts it himself with a simple knife so the fine strands of white hair stay out of his eyes while he is reading. Kane has the lavender eyes mostly associated with the fairer sex and tends to avoid eye contact with most people even whilst speaking to them as he is embarrassed by this overtly feminine feature. Kane dresses in simple brown robes associated with Initiates of the First Ring that he wears tight for practical purposes despite accidentally showing off his pudgy physique. He normally carries a crude knife and an arcane inscribed orb the latter of which seems never to leave his left hand. The most striking feature is a circular neck tattoo he has fully around the base of his neck where it meets his shoulders, inside the simple black ring are white inked runes of Elvish that blend in with his milky skin detailing the oaths he took to be a part of the Order of the First Ring, he chose elvish to show a close tie to his ancestry.

• What is your racial heritage?
He is an Eladrin and proud of this fact. Kane has developed a close tie to his ancestral heritage that could be looked at as overcompensation given that Eladrin are seen as second class citizens. Kane tends to view Eladrin as a stronger race in character than others given the trials they are still put through.

• What is your family like?
See Wraith’s description also… But, from Kane’s point of view:
Kane has a strong tie to his parents especially his father. Kane is technically the Second Son of House Mandalorian but the treatment and preference he receives from this father are more in line with being the favored or First son. Kane was embraced from birth by his father for being more like him and capable of carrying on the familial traditions unlike his albino first born son. Arannis goes so far as to pronounce Kane the First son of the house when introducing his family a direct slight against Arkanian. Arranis has high hopes of Kane eventually taking the family business.

Kane has the standard relationship of a mother to son, he has few memories of spending quality time with his mother as his father spent so much time raising his son to be like him. Mirielle has a strong tie to the magic inherent in her race and was the one who noticed this same gift in Kane. Through Mirielle’s prodding and Arranis’ ambition Arranis used some of his more unscrupulous contacts with the Spire to get Kane trained in the arcane arts directly through the church. Arranis believed having a son being in such a prestigious position could only improve his family’s status as there are few students at all who are licensed and given permission to learn the use of magic.

Kane unfortunately does no have a close relationship with his sister despite being born the same year as her. Kane’s time was so involved with his teachings at the spire and his fathers attention he scarcely had time to cultivate a relationship with her.

Kane has a decent relationship with his brother Arkanian but there is a deep seated rivalry between the two of them. Kane has embraced being the favored son with his standings within the family and society of being part of church and Arkanian seems to have embraced his role as an outcast of the family. Kane disapproves of Arkanian’s choice to distance himself from the family as he sees this as insult to his father. Part of the rivalry between these two brothers is that when it comes down to it they are both fighting for the father’s approval and respect, Kane is lucky that he doesn’t have to fight very hard.

• Where do you live?
Technically in the Twilight Heights as part of his fathers house. Kane spends an enormous amount of time within the spire training the use of arcane magics. A lot of this time commitment is mandatory by the Order to help learn control and discipline including weeks and sometimes months spent living within the spire’s walls. But Kane has taken a love of what he does and tends to spend his free time here as well

• What sort of training did you receive as a child and young adult?
At the age of 7 Kane was able to receive training directly from the priests of the Church. This is actually older than normal as most individuals who learn the arcane arts are taken as a baby in order to learn full control of this talent. Because of his father’s connection Kane was taken in and taught even though most priests thought he was too old to fully learn The Art, they were astonished at Kane’s accelerated rate of learning and his seemingly endless drive to learn all he could. Kane takes special pride that this talen he has learned and excels at is an important part of his familial heritage and ironically enough the non-Eladrin races at the Spire teaching him the use of magic has deepened his love and appreciation of his own race and it’s natural ties to magic. Currently Kane is finishing his final lessons and has just been named an official Initiate of the First Ring (this is the lowest part of the order and is named after The Spire in Aonu, individuals with continued skill, success, and recognition eventually ascend to higher order and organizations within the spire eventually hoping to attain the title of “..the Seventh Ring” currently it is impossible for a “magic-user” to attain the highest level of the 8th ring and is exclusively reserved for Clerics and the like)

• Do you have a job? What do you do for money?
Kane has never had a job and hasn’t technically had to work for anything in his life. His father continues to give him full financial support. Given this fact as well as being partially raised near the top tier in social class Kane has developed the personality more closely akin to a noble.

• Do you have any hobbies?
Kane has a special love of puzzle and mind games and enjoys stretching his intellect. He has a fascination with the martial arts and secretly envies his brother for his skills with a sword although he would never admit this, Kane always wished he could have learned more from a blade than just a book but that is an internal longing and most likely will never come to fruition.

Do you have a love interest?
No, although he would never personally say this about himself Kane’s view of women is very sexist and they are nothing he would, “waste his time on”

• Are you religious?
Yes. Being raised in the church from a young boy Kane has been indoctrinated (brainwashed) by the Erathis’ teachings. Kane fully practices his loyalty to the church and Erathis herself in daily prayers as part of his studies. Very recently however an inner struggle has come up in his mind. Part of Erathis’ teachings is that magic is something that should be restricted and almost feared given the failings of earlier times when men were corrupted by its power. However, lately Kane’s memories of his mother telling him bedtime stories of ancient heroes of Eladrin using their innate magic inside the Feywild have slowly been creeping into his conscious thought fighting against those beloved teachings of Erathis. A new thought has begun to seed in Kane’s mind seeing that magic itself is not to be blamed for the corruption of man and society in the past, it was the failings of lesser races such as human (Yes, Kane is slightly racist against humans seeing them as weak and corruptible). Lately, Kane Is leaning towards the idea that magic is in itself not evil and should not be so highly regulated to the point of eradication, this notion is scary to Kane as this is the first time in his life he has had a thought that contradicts what he has learned from the Church.

• What are your three biggest fears?
1. Failing to control the magic he has learned and succumb to it’s supposed potential “evil” thereby continuing the idea that magic is something to be feared.
2. To lose his license and no longer be able to practice his Art.
3. To be removed from his family in any way be it death of one of them, or exile, or to no longer be able to see them. Despite his differences Kane loves his family and is scared to death of anything that would take him away from them.

• What is your biggest dream?
To one day travel into the dark spreading the light of Erathis and in this new haven have magic be not something viewed with extreme caution but actually be embraced, wouldn’t that be the next step of civilization as Erathis teaches? Wouldn’t that be a blow against the dark itself and a victory for the evolution of said civilization to embrace magic as the heathens in the dark don’t understand? (sorry got into an inner monologue there)

• What are your quirks or pet peeves?
Kane is logical almost to a fault. He tends to anger those around him by taking an extremely long time to make up his mind or make a decision. Kane tends to get lost in his own thoughts and has a bad habit of staring at someone he does so. Some of his pet peeves are: idiots or the unintelligent, obnoxious drunks (see Arkanian), rash decisions, extended direct eye contact. While Kane normally dislikes public speaking the skills he has learned from the priests promote the idea of speaking well to a crowd so Kane is actively trying to get better at speaking in public despite being not very good at it. Kane enjoys a good discussion over fast action.

• What is most important to you?
His own success.

What is your profession, and why did you choose it?
Technically, Kane’s only profession is student. He has no other valuable skills or training

• How do you imagine yourself in ten years?
In 10 years Kane hopes to be an established member of the upper echelons of the spire. He hopes to be named as one of the protectors of the frontiers in the dark so he can help influence and spread the idea that magic should be more openly embraced(these are ideas he has come to think of recently as it could potentially be seen as blashphemous to speak of such goals in public). As for his father and their business Kane has no intentions of taking it over after his father but has yet to build up the courage to in fact tell his father this. Kane is working on an idea that might pacify his father hoping to somehow become part of the trade of illicit magical items that his father is a part of. Kane sees this comfortable familial tie as an extremely efficient way of learning all that he can about the Art and any items associated with it.

Nicely done, sir. I like all the details you put in, they really bring this dude to life. I especially like the whole anti-human thing. Actually, seeing as how no one in our group is human, I propose that we might want to give ourselves an anti-human racism. After all, those guys are so weak and corruptible, it's obvious that they were the ones who fucked up everything back in the Old World. I hate those fuckers. Who's with me and Kane?

The other thing about this dude that I find striking is his attitude towards magic. I love it because it is the attitude that drives every heretic: the idea that the thing forbidden (ie, magic) is actually the best expression of the God's ideals (ie, Erathis, civilization). From there, it is very easy to become convinced that the guardians of the current order--of which Kane is a part--are not living up to their role as the champions of civilization, and may in fact be dangerous to the very thing that they claim to protect. It's a basic mindset that makes a lot of sense and has a great deal of potential in the unfolding plot.
